Ports

Connect Vines are proud to bring to South Australia some of the finest ruby, vintage and white ports on offer direct from Porto - Douro, Portugal.

Magalhães Ruby PortDeep vivid ruby colour. Full-bodied wine with seductive aromas of red fruits. It is fresh and young on the palate with raspberry, cherry and plum flavours, combined with a long, intense finish.A blend of 70% and aged ruby port creates a very interesting wine that has the intensity and concentration of vintage port combined with the complexity and softness that comes from the ruby port. Magalhães 2005 LBV PortVintage ports often take 20 years cellaring to real their peak, but luckily there's a smart alternative. Late Bottled Vintages are very similar in style, but matured in cask for longer, so their rich luxuriously rich, warming, chocolaty flavours can be enjoyed right away. This LBV is made from old vine Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca e Cao. 4 years in oak to accelerate the ageing. 2005 was a very good year for port production. Magalhães 2004 Vintage PortThis wine has an intense crimson colour. This is an opulent and very well balanced example of young vintage port. Initially the deeply concentrated fruit is the most striking feature of the wine. Red fruits such as raspberry and plum provide fruit sweetness, combined with an undercurrent of chocolate and spicy richness result in a wine of rare concentration that is beautifully balanced with the acid and tannin typically found in young vintage ports. A great example of well made port in a year that many struggled.
Quinta dos MurcasPart of the Esporao winery, a tawny port produced from grapes of superior letter A quality, fermented in the traditional granite legates with foot treading and aged in oak pipes of 700 litre capacity for an average period of 10 years. This tawny shows the potential of the Covelinhas region to produce tawnys of great elegance, intensity and persistence.Amber in colour; complex and nutty with notes of fig, hazelnut and vanilla on the nose; the palate elegant and intense, very persistent, good balancing acidity.
